Bell 209 AH-1F pilots station PIC ( Pilot in Command )
In this section I will introduce the instruments of the Bell 209 AH-1 F Cobra which I have collected and integrated in the actual project.
Unfortunately this collection is and will probably never be completed
if I get no parts supplied from a company who is still operating the Bell 209 AH-1F
in civilian or privat version or in a heritage foundation. It is nearly impossible
to get all original parts of such a helicopter simulator cockpit project
nor can rare parts being payed or ordered.
But..... my enthusiasm will not stop.
June 2013
Main panel of the pilots station.
This prototype was milled out with wrong cut outs for the instruments, so it will remain as an exhibition part for spare instruments which I have as surplus.
Jan 2013
Original Bell 209 AH-1F Caution panel
Finally the original Bell AH-1F caution & advisory panel is wired and illuminates up when the TEST switch is pressed. Very nice action.
April 2013
finally my original Bell AH-1F Cobra pedal
arrived.
Now I try to build the left one by
my self. No original left pedal showing the BELL lettering is available on the market. If its finished I will post the complete assembly. An original anti torque pedal assembly is absolute hard to find but I hope not impossible.
June 2013
This will be the circuit breaker panel located in the rear right console of the pilots station , which was very complicate to build having only one original picture available.
August 2014
I was happy to receive an original
NOS CB panel for the right console after a long search. Has red back light incl.connector 28V. the lamps are parallel connected.
Unfortunately there was a big difference between the rebuilt and the original.
So base plate for the CB`s have to be manufacured once again....
This face plate will not be backlighted ! Unfortunately it has hundreds of cracks in the top layer due to improper storage or age from the supplier ! See picture below.
Bad luck, but I don`t fly IFR :-)

Back lighted face plate of the CB panel
with hundreds of cracks.
HSI horizontal situation indicator. 5 V internal light. NVG light frame is under construction.
ADI Attitude Direction Indicator ADI
ARU-39A with
original instrument light frame 5V.
Has also internal red lights 5V.
Working with 115V 400Hz 3 phase.
It comes out of a F-15 simulator and is unfortunately not the same as for the Bell 209 AH-1F Cobra

This is the VHF FM AN/ARC-114A radio control panel rebuilt. Only face plate was available.
Internal red lightning.
RCVR Test knob still missing .
Placed in the bottom left of the main panel.
Position varies from type to type.
June 2014
This is the UHF AM AN/ARC-115A radio control panel located in the bottom center of the main panel. Position varies from type to type.
Jan 2104
It was like christmas reciving 2 sets of original anti torque pedals for my project.
After installing the original Bell 209 AH-1F anti torque pedals a potentiometer was adapted as z-axis.
Connected with the BU-0836X it works perfect and can
be fine adjusted with FSUIP in FSX.
So tail rotor function is working!
May 2104
The Light Control Panel is finally
finished and installed. Equipped
with 4 rehostat items it will dim the 5 V
and 24V instrument light circuits
separately and independently.
June 2014
Finally the CB breaker panel inclusive the case is finished and installed with a new laser engraved face plate.
Due to the lack of original dimensions some geometrical deviation my occur on this face plate. It seems much bigger than the original .The face plate was laser cutted base on original pictures. Up to now it is not back lighted but all the numbers of
CB `s are installed but not functioning.

The following pictures show the actual status of the project building a
Bell-209 TAH-1F Cobra cockpit simulator

Radar Warning receiver ( RWR) AN/APR-39V of the Bell-209 AH-1F Cobra.
This is a rebuilt from scratch of the actual radar warning receiver indicator used in the AH-1F Cobra. Has 5V internal illumination. Only pictures were available to rebuild it.
Nov 2014
Now the main panel has the AN/APR-39V installed. Looks much more perfect than before. Also the positions for the AN/ARC-114 and AN/ARC-115 have been changed. Now they have the same positions as in the Red Bull`s TAH-1F Cobra

Nov. 2017
I was lucky to receive an original AH-1-F instrument panel. Now all the wiring for the lights become a professional layout.
Much work again !
Nov. 2017
Happy to see that the light panel stil was installed and ready for use. Also the fire warning panel
and the air vent panel and some clamps were still in place.
Jan. 2019
Finally completed my new stick gimbal with magnetic force trim.
This is a rebuild from
YOREH who showed this assy at

Thank you Yoreh for this great construction
Nov. 2019
